Community Fund 2023 Now Closed

We can now confirm the 2023 Community Fund window is now closed.

Devon County FA can now confirm that the 2023 Community Fund window has now closed for applications. The window closed on Friday 29 September, after another successful summer of supporting grassroots football across the length and breadth of the county.

This year was the second round of the Community Fund, as we look to invest £240,000 back into football across Devon through the duration of our current three year business strategy.

The Community Fund, which is funded through the Devon FA Player Membership Scheme has proven to be even more popular than last season, with just under 100 applications coming in since the funding window opened in June 2023.

Now that the funding window is closed for applications, we will move into the next phase of supporting those successful applicants. Some have already seen some projects through to completion, and we will continue to work with those other successful projects over the coming weeks and months.

Devon FA Community Engagement Director and Council Member, Rod Hawker, was delighted to see the Fund prove so successful once again, stating:

“Ever aware of the competing financial demands on grassroots football, Devon County FA’s Community Fund continues to assist clubs and leagues in their ability to purchase resources and equipment that may otherwise be out of their reach, or relegated to a ‘wish-list’.

This year’s Fund has seen yet more Devon clubs and leagues being able to invest in items such as storage containers, line-marking machines, respect packages as well as several other expenses incurred to improve the experience of the game for those who use their facilities - players, spectators and volunteers.

Our funds are not infinite, and it is always a bitter-sweet experience when we must declare our budget is spent and a halt is called on more applications. Regardless, we do so knowing we are continuing to allocate 100% of our budget to good causes and assisting in the continued development of so many local clubs and leagues.

We thank everyone who has applied for assistance over this funding period, and for those unsuccessful, we hope you will re-apply when a new window opens.”

Details on any future funding rounds will be announced in due course.
