Devon Football Family Awards 2024
The Devon Football Family Awards are back for 2024, and this is your opportunity to shine the spotlight on a volunteer, facility or a team who have left a positive mark in the community.
Nominations close on Friday 31st May 2024.
Long Service to Devon Football Award
Since 1976, at the Annual General Meeting of the Devon County FA, our Council Members have traditionally selected an individual from each area to receive a Long Service Award in recognition of their contributions to grassroots football in Devon.
This season, in a departure from our previous nomination process, we are delighted to introduce the launch of our Long Service Awards with open nominations. This initiative aims to provide recognition to our members and volunteers for their dedicated service to the game throughout our region.
Grassroots football simply couldn't exist without volunteers. By extending this opportunity to the Devon Football Family, we aim to express our gratitude to those whose exceptional dedication and commitment to the game drive them to consistently support their local teams, clubs, and leagues week after week.
The Long Service Award is open to any member of the Devon Football Family who has demonstrated long-standing dedication in any role contributing to the operation of grassroots football in Devon.
After the nomination period concludes, Devon County FA Council Members in each area will carefully select their respective Area Winner.

The Charles Norsworthy Award for Fair Play and Meritorious Award
The Charles Norsworthy Award for Fair Play and Meritorious Award has been honouring clubs in Devon since 1999. In the past, nominations for this recognition of grassroots clubs were made by Council Members from each area (North, South, East, and West). However, this season, we are thrilled to welcome nominations from anyone in our Devon Football Family.
Clubs or teams can be nominated if they achieve the following standards:
- Outstanding playing record for the season
- No fines in respect of club or team administration
- Excellent disciplinary record
- Promptness in dealing with County and League matters
- Friendliness and hospitality to visiting teams and match officials
- Good conduct of club officials and supporters
- Sound financial base with no debts
Following the closing date, all nominations will be reviewed by the Devon FA Council Members in each area and they will select their Area Winner. The Area Winner will then progress to the Annual General Meeting, where our full Council will vote on an overall winner.
