Devon FA Announce Ground Maintenance Partners

The Devon County Football Association are delighted to launch a new maintenance partnership with three companies, all with the aim of providing the Devon Football Family with first class ground maintenance, equipment and advice.  

 

The County FA have teamed up with two, local, agriculture and turf specialists, in the form of Devon Garden Machinery and Masons Kings to bring clubs the best service for their grass pitches, and Technical Surfaces to provide support with artificial pitches.  

 

The two turf specialists will look to work with the Devon FA and the County’s clubs to provide equipment, advice, and education when it comes to taking care of grass pitches, with the Devon FA providing financial support through grants. 

 

Speaking on launching the Surface Maintenance Partnerships, Facilities & Investment Lead, Nick Garlick, said: "It is great to have all three on-board as partners as it will allow us to support clubs in the best possible way, providing not just funding to help with equipment, but also education on what they need for their surface. It’s great to be able to cover all basis with this new programme and we’re really excited to bring this to the Devon Football Family.” 

 

Devon Garden Machinery’s Steve Dommett pointed out the importance of local businesses supporting grassroots football adding: We love all sport and have a lot of staff who either play or have played football locally and we have seen the benefits of this on lots of levels. It is exceptionally important for our communities that grassroots football and other sports continue to prosper and that is why we are extremely keen to help in any way we can.” 

 

Elliot Prior of Masons Kings emphasised the shared goal between their company and the Devon FA saying: "We were the first machinery dealership to build a partnership with the Devon FA, and we are committed to maintaining that relationship for the future. We have a shared goal of developing and assisting the Football Clubs in Devon to achieve excellence in their pitch performance & condition.” 

In addition to the two grass pitch specialists, the Devon FA are also delighted to be welcoming Technical Surfaces on-board who will focus on all things artificial pitches.

 

Sinead Merry of Technical Surfaces highlighted the importance of education in the service they can provide: "Clubs can expect exclusive discounted rates on our services, annual training seminars on 3G pitch maintenance and unlimited ongoing technical support to all FA 3G pitches in Devon, even if they are not contracted to ourselves."
