Paul Stewart Presentation

On Thursday evening, Paul Stewart presented his safeguarding talk to Devon CWO's.

On Thursday 23rd February, former professional footballer and England player, Paul Stewart, presented his safeguarding talk to Devon Club Welfare Officers.

In November 2016, Stewart revealed he was a victim of child sexual abuse when he was playing youth football.

Paul spoke about his abuse, how it has affected his adult life, and the work he now does to educated those involved in sport about safeguarding.

CWO’s felt that the presentation was excellent and this is some of the feedback we have received:

“Just wanted to say how moving the presentation was that Paul did, it’s quite profound, the impact on Paul and his whole family.  Thank you for sharing it with us.”

“I just wanted to say thank-you for last night’s meeting, the presentation from Paul Stewart was so powerful and thought provoking.  When you hear first-hand of what happened and is still affecting him you have to take notice. It really does make you think and take stock of what a CWO does within a club. So once again thanks for setting up the presentation.”

“It was really emotional. It must have taken guts for him to come forward and tell his story.  I went home and had a full on discussion with my 16 year old son about social media and the dangers!!! I am really glad I was able to attend so thank you again. X”

Devon FA would like to send out a big THANK YOU to Paul for his presentation and helping our CWO’s gain more knowledge about safeguarding.
