Devon Walking Footballers Represent England

Various male and female players from across Devon represented England at the Nations Cup

Walking football players from Plymouth Argyle and Braunton FC represented England at the Finals of the 2022 Nations Cup held recently at Redditch FC.

Tony Potts of Plymouth Argyle, captained the men’s over 70’s team and collected his 6th international cap of his walking football career.

Wendy Benson of Braunton FC made her debut in the newly formed women’s over 60’s squad earning her first international cap and Mel Benson who was ineligible to play for the Women’s 50’s team at this event joined the coaching team for the day.

England won the final tournament of the season which made it a clean sweep of all three trophies from the international fixtures held this season in Wales, Ireland and England.

There are various walking football clubs throughout Devon with teams available for all abilities, competitive and recreational.
