Devon Ability Counts League Finals Day 2022
The Devon Ability Counts League Finals Day sponsored by Allwood Timber Construction Ltd took place on Sunday 15th May at Braunton FC with a fantastic day of Disability Football on show with all teams from across Devon! The Adult’s Finals Day at Lobb Field, Braunton kicked off with all nine divisions taking stage on the Devon FA pitches with teams battling for league titles and the Respect Fair Play Award. This was also the first league finals day since May 2019, with the league completing a full season after postponements due to Covid-19 over the previous 2 years.
Women’s Football was represented with teams from Barnstaple Ability FC, Exeter City FC, Exmouth Tigers FC & Pinhoe Ability FC. All the ladies had a great day playing in matches across the day before being awarded their trophies. In the men’s divisions, we had some great matches, fair play and sportsmanship across the day.
The event concluded with the end of season presentations, for league winners, runners up and respect awards. As the league is part of the FA Respect Programme, throughout the season referees have marked teams on their discipline, conduct and fair play on the pitch. This enables the league to promote respect between players, coaches, referees and spectators.
Well done to the league committee, referees, players, coaches and volunteers who have made the Devon Ability Counts League another successful and rewarding season. Also thank you to Cullompton Rangers FC, Tavistock College & Braunton FC for hosting league fixtures across the season.
