We are saddened to hear about the passing of former Devon FA Council Member, John Haigh.
John worked for many years with the Exeter & District Sunday League during his time in Devon, as well as serving as a Council Member, Chairman of our East Area Discipline Committee, and as County Treasurer.
John then moved to Wiltshire in 1994, where he was involved with the Chippenham league, serving as Vice-Chairman and Chairman. He also sat on four committees for Wiltshire FA.
More recently, John was awarded the Gordon Blatchford award for his services and efforts to grassroots football.
Paul Morrison commented: “John was a tremendous servant to grassroots football, and we are grateful for the service he gave to football in Devon. He was a lovely gentleman, who was proud to have been associated with the Devon FA. We would like to pass on our respects to his family at this difficult time”.
