Devon FA Grounds Team Evening A Huge Success

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Grounds Team evening at Bovey Tracey FC on Thursday evening

As part of our emerging new 3 year strategy to support football in Devon, Bovey Tracey FC hosted our first Grounds Team Evening earlier this week with over 60 volunteers from across 26 different clubs in the County attended the three hour evening with demonstrations and presentations from the County FA’s new partners.  Masons Kings, Linemark UK, Velvit Fertilisers, DFL Seeds and Science, Complete Weed Control and Wakeham Groundcare

We also welcomed Ashley Hendrickx-Nutley from the Grounds Management Association, our regional pitch advisor was on hand to meet our volunteers to discuss any issues or questions. As our grounds team volunteers arrived they were able to test out machinery from Masons Kings and Linemark UK as well as networking with each other and all our partners.  Following our networking period the volunteers were treated to a number of presentations from our partners, Ashley and Chris French from DCFA on a range of topics ranging from what to use on your pitch, how to use PitchPower, winter care for their pitches and funding available to clubs.  The presentation from the evening can be viewed here.

The evening also saw the official launch of the new Devon FA Grounds Team Association which will help to enhance facilities in Devon.  All clubs in Devon are invited to join the new association which will give them access to exclusive products and prices from DCFA partners, access to all future pitch maintenance evenings, an annual pitch visit from Tim Wakeham, exclusive quarterly newsletter and opportunity to attend industry visits including a trip to Southampton FC.

The new association has a membership fee of £125 per season, the exclusive products and prices from our partners will ensure that not only will clubs who sign up are given high quality and suitable products but also save money across the season!  To register for the new Grounds Team Association please click here, any questions on the new association please contact Chris French.
