Devon FA Cups Committee Statement

Please read below, a statement on the Sportslighting Devon Premier Cup.

Following the abandonment of the Sportslighting Premier Cup tie between Topsham Town and Mount Gould on the 30th October the Disciplinary Process has now been completed and the Devon FA Cups Committee has now considered the tie.

Scenes that were witnessed at this match are totally unacceptable for a Devon FA County Cup match and it has been noted that both teams were found guilty of misconduct.

With immediate effect both teams have been removed from the Sportslighting Premier Cup and duly fined.

Exwick Villa, the opponents for the winner of the abandoned tie will now be granted a walkover into the next round.

Devon FA Cups Committee Chairman Mark Buley stated: "We will not tolerate poor behaviour in our County Cup matches, or any match for that matter,  and we hope that this is a clear statement from us in terms of the actions we will take if such behaviour is repeated. Devon FA County Cups should be played with respect to everyone present at the match".
