Devon FA to Launch Unique Coaches Academy
Launching on September 7th, Devon FA will be offering what we believe will be the largest Coaching CPD (workshop) programme of any County Football Association.
Uniquely featuring several coaches from the professional game, as well as several FA staff, we’ll be running not just events but support groups for:
- Foundation Phase (ages 5-11)
- Development Phase (ages 12-16)
- Adult 11v11
- The Female Game
For youth managers, we’ll also run several events through the season which will include the opportunity for several teams to attend, as we look to add matchday coaching workshops to a calendar that will also look extensively at training ideas.
Since we have lost our Coach Development workforce as a County FA, we have had to put together this extensive programme at some cost – but we are keeping the fees low for coaches and clubs, at just £30 per season (individual) or £100 per club. With over 20 workshops taking place Sept-December (and a similar number in the second half of the season), this represents outstanding value, particularly since where a club signs up all of their coaches can access any events they choose. There will also be an option to attend individual events for non-members (likely £10 per event – thus we’d recommend annual membership as the best value).

This is truly a unique project in Devon, the addition of mentoring groups in the 4 above areas, to a programme featuring many top names, makes our biggest coaching offer to date.
