Have you ever wondered who makes the key decisions regarding football in Devon? Have you ever had an idea you wanted to share that you thought could improve the game? Or do you simply just want to have a say about your team? If the answer to any of the above is yes, then we want you to be part of our Devon FA Council.
2021 is a big year for change in the Devon FA regarding how we run football in Devon, and it is also election year. We are looking for people who are passionate for football across the County, and need to elect:
- 5 new Council Members from North Devon
- 9 new Council Members from East Devon
- 7 new Council Members from West Devon
- 6 new Council Members from South Devon
As part of some of the many changes we have planned for this year, we shall be awarding a Council position within every Devon FA affiliated league. This means that every league in Devon will have a voice regarding football matters.
The world has changed dramatically in the past twelve months, we as a County FA also need to be part of that change. Covid has seen us adapt, now holding most meetings via Zoom. We engage to seek all views and concerns from all of our leagues, clubs and players, and we want your voice to be heard.
It's time we gave our football family in Devon what they want, and adapt to how they think they what is the best way to enjoy their football.
The Devon FA over the next few weeks will be planning our Football Strategy for the next 3 years, to cover from 2021 - 2024, and there will be many changes of how we do things embedded within this, and we want you to be part of this.
To be part of this exciting change, we need you to:
- Write 100 words (maximum) about yourself + your ideas
- 2 adult clubs from Devon to email us to propose you
- Send a head and shoulders photo of yourself - to show the public who you are
The above should be sent to - Devon FA Chief Executive, Paul Morrison - firstname.lastname@example.org by the 30th April 2021.
If you are worried about applying or want to ask some questions about being part of our council, please contact Paul Morrison on 01626 325912.
It doesn't matter if you are young or old, a referee or a player, a club official or a spectator, we would love to have you with us as part of the Devon FA football family.
