Devon FA - Coronavirus Statement

Statement from Devon FA CEO Paul Morrison on the Coronavirus pandemic

UPDATED - 24th March 2020, at 12:00

Following the statement made by the FA yesterday I wanted to personally contact you all and try and clarify some of the issues announced that concern us all at what is an unprecedented time for our game.

I understand the disappointment of not being able to play or train. However, I would urge everybody within our game to stick together as we try to manage and overcome this challenging situation. It is so important that we all look out for each other and that we are collective in our thoughts and actions for the betterment of all.

The focus of the Board, Council Members and Staff of the Devon County FA remains fundamentally to make sure that everyone within the “Football Family” are safe and kept up to date with information.

The Devon FA staff will be amending the way that we carry out our duties over the next few weeks but wish to assure you that we want to try and help wherever we can and to also reassure you that we are all in this together and if we can all try and play our part correctly then we might just slowly recover and more importantly stay safe….

FA Statement, please see below:

FA Statement - 6.04pm - 16th March

Following the Government’s announcement today, for people to avoid social contact and gatherings where possible, we are now advising that all grassroots football in England is postponed for the foreseeable future.

Throughout this period, we have taken Government advice with the priority being the health and wellbeing of all. We will continue to work closely with the grassroots game during this time.

We are in regular communication with the Government and the situation within English football at all levels remains under regular review. Further updates will follow as needed.

Below is a list of Q&A's which may help you with some of the questions you have to pose to the County FA.

Coronavirus QA 24th March

We shall be adding to our question and answers as we learn and gather more information via the Football Association.

Please feel free to send your questions to info@devonfa.com

The Devon FA will endeavour to try and complete their County Cup Finals where possible and this may well mean Finals being played in the month of June; this same principal will be offered to our grassroot leagues should they wish to try and complete their seasons

I thank you for your time but do welcome you to contact the Devon FA should you have any further questions that we are able to share with all of our football colleagues.

Many Thanks

Paul Morrison
