Big Boost For Devon Clubs Through Club Preparation Fund

Devon clubs received a big boost this week, as over £50,000 of funding has been awarded to our clubs

We are delighted to announce that the Club Preparation Fund will bring an additional £57,500 to grassroots football in Devon to ensure there is a safe return to football.

Club Preparation Fund grants will enable clubs to satisfy extra hygiene measures that Government guidance requires. This includes:

• The installation of hygiene facilities such as hand sanitiser dispensers, soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers and waste bins
• Modifications such as safety screening, contactless payment systems and signage
• Facility maintenance work, such as repairing hand basins and hot water provision
• Professional inspections that may be necessary due to the prolonged period of closure resulting from the pandemic – including inspections of water quality, gas and ventilation.

The Club Preparation Fund follows the £7m Pitch Preparation Fund, which is benefiting 9588 pitches and is a continuation of football and Government’s support for clubs that have lost out on normal revenue streams during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Devon FA's County Development Manager, Chris French, said: "With the return of grassroots football now upon us the Club Preparation Fund is vital to support our clubs with facilities to ensure they are Covid-19 safe.  We are working with all leagues and clubs to ensure all FA guidance can be followed and we can safely return to football. This additional £57,500 coming into Devon is a much needed boost for all clubs and football across Devon."
