The FA Youth Futsal Cup - South West Regional Finals
The FA Youth Futsal Cup – South West Regional Finals, organised and managed by Devon FA, were played at Paignton Academy on 23rd & 24th March.
Futsal is the internationally recognised format for 5-a-side, played with a lower bouncing ball, kick-ins, 4-second re-start rule and goalkeeper throws instead of goalkicks.

The regional finals saw teams from Devon, Cornwall, Gloucestershire, Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset take part and compete for places in the National Semi-Finals.
Devon had 6 teams taking part: Brixington Blues – U16 Girls, Plymouth Aspire – U14 Girls, Signal Box – U12 Girls, Marine Academy Plymouth – U10 Girls, Marine Academy Plymouth – U12 Boys, Roselands – U10 Boys. Additionally Alphington (U14 Boys) and Plymouth Marjon (U16 Boys) had already qualified.
A huge congratulations to Plymouth Aspire U14 Girls and Marine Academy Plymouth U12 Boys who both won all of their games, and will progress to the National Semi-Finals in Birmingham on 13th April, where they will face the winners of the other regions from across the country.
A big well done also goes to all the other teams who competed.
The competitions Finals are played at St George’s Park in early May, and there are still 5 teams remaining from Devon, who are just 1 stage away from competing at St George’s Park, The FA’s National Football Centre, and of course, home of the England’s 28 football teams.

Devon FA invests over £2000 annually into our Youth Leagues to create futsal opportunities. This season all of our youth leagues had qualifying rounds within The FA Youth Futsal Cup, and Devon FA organised a County Final with all clubs from leagues competing.
