South-West Step 6 and 7 League Structure Update
Football in the South West of England is soon to be making big changes to its league structure for Clubs in Step 6 & 7. For many months both Devon FA and Cornwall FA, plus the South West Peninsula League and Devon & Exeter Football League have been meeting to organise a more effective and efficient league system for clubs to decrease travelling and maintain a high standard of football, which will in effect make grassroots football around the South West a much more entertaining sport.
Along with The FA, we’ve agreed to outline a new structure which will commence for the 2019/2020 season.
Now, we want the voices of our clubs to take to the floor at these venues during the next few months:
Monday 4th June at University of St. Mark and St. John (Lecture Centre – Plymouth)
Tuesday 5th June at Tiverton Football Club
All Devon and Cornwall Club Secretaries should have received an email inviting them to the discussions.
Ray Lewis, Chairman of the FA Leagues Committee, plus Laurence Jones, Head of the National League System will be in attendance at all venues.
A full statement of how the leagues will be structured will be announced in due course.
