Retain the Game 2018

Clubs in Devon can apply for funding from 18th April – 30th May 2018

The Football Association and Football Foundation have launched ‘Retain the Game’ a new scheme aimed at supporting the retention of adult male teams.

Grants of £750 will provide support for the essential costs of pitch hire, training venues, First Aid courses and playing kit/equipment.

Clubs in Devon can apply for funding from 18th April – 30th May 2018


Retain the Game will offer support to clubs to help with the retention of adult male football. We therefore invite applications from:

The following age groups and club categories are eligible for support; 

Clubs that operate with two or more male teams (u/17-u/21, Open Age and Vets) and
Hold the FA’s Adult Charter Standard Award
Operate in a Charter Standard Development or Charter Standard Community Club or
Adult Clubs that commit to become FA Adult Charter Standard within season 2018/19


Profit making organisations
Educational establishments
University teams playing in BUCS, Intramural, or non-FA affiliated leagues
College Teams playing in AOC, Intramural, or non-FA affiliated leagues
Groups wishing to apply for charitable status
Organisations seeking retrospective funding for costs that have already been made or are due before an offer of a grant has been awarded
Youth Clubs with a football programme
Futsal Clubs
Community groups/centre/clubs
Charitable Organisations
Parish Councils
Sports Associations
Local Authorities
Multi-sports clubs
Companies limited by guarantee
Professional Club Community Schemes
Industrial and provident societies
Unincorporated not-for-profit organisations
University and College Teams playing in FA affiliated community leagues
Clubs with existing GtG grants funding adult male teams


Facility hire (matchday or training venue)
First Aid courses 
Voucher for Nike Kit/Equipment (including First Aid) – to be redeemed through bespoke portal
