THE NOISE COMING FROM BOTH CLUBS:

How it feels the reach a County Cup Final:

Martin Windsor (Bideford AFC Youth Manager)“After the season Bideford Girls have had and some weeks struggling to get 9 players to play matches and always playing away from home all season this is a massive moral boost for our girls. Their efforts, hard work and commitment have been rewarded and it's great to be representing North Devon Girls football.”

Matthew Hodgson (Dawlish United Youth Manager)“Great! Cup finals are one of the biggest events of any season at any level of football so it’s always nice to get through to a final. We were fortunate enough to make it through to last years’ final at under 16’s so know first-hand what a brilliant evening it is for all involved and what a great spectacle Devon FA put on for the teams with all the media and Facebook live filming that takes place.”

What style of play we expect to see:

Martin Windsor (Bideford AFC Youth Manager)“Bideford Under 18 Girls will have to play a good formation with lots of high level energy to try and win the ball we will look to play passing football and hopefully get in behind the defence and get some goals. From start to finish the girls will demonstrate who a respectable team play football.”

Matthew Hodgson (Dawlish United Youth Manager) “We have technically good players all over the pitch who have a fantastic understanding of the game so we look to control games possession wise and by dictating the tempo of play. We like to start games quickly and get on the front foot early where we can. We have some exciting attacking players who are a joy to watch when on form so we’ll be aiming to entertain everyone watching.”

What it's taken to reach a County Cup Final:

Martin Windsor (Bideford AFC Youth Manager) “We've had a bit of good luck and fortune to reach the final but the girls after a torrid season having to travel most weeks but have stayed committed have earnt this opportunity and I'm very proud to be there manager and watch them grow next season.”

Matthew Hodgson (Dawlish United Youth Manager)“Cup competitions always have an element of randomness given the format of cup draws so you never know season-by-season what sort of route through to a final you are going to get. Sometimes the draw is kind to you and other times is gives you a real test. This has been one of those seasons for us as we have faced Plympton and SB Frankfort in the quarter and semi-finals, teams currently sitting in third and second place in the league table. The girls were brilliant in a tough semi-final victory and are delighted to make it through to another final this season.”
