Course Description

The FA Coaching Blind Footballers (CBF) Course is designed to provide football coaches with an introduction to working effectively and confidently with blind footballers. Our experienced team of FA qualified tutors provide a quality service designed to support candidates through the course ensuring that individual needs are catered for.

Course Aims & Objectives

This course will provide an introduction to the organisation and delivery of safe and enjoyable coaching sessions for blind players. It is ideally suited to those coaches introducing individuals or groups of players to the game.

Course Content

  • Understanding the blind game in the context of LTPD;
  • Applying and extending existing coaching skills and experience to meet the needs of blind footballers;
  • Establishing effective communication skills when coaching blind footballers;
  • Identifying appropriate and safe methods of supporting and working with blind footballer;
  • Recognising the need to deliver relevant coaching sessions to effectively meet the developmental needs of the blind footballer;
  • Understanding the different components of the blind game;
  • Understanding the characteristics blind footballers require to perform at a performance level of the game;
  • Recognising the Player Pathway and competition structure available for blind footballers.

Practical Involvement: Candidates will be encouraged to participate practically to maximise their opportunities for learning (however inability to participate will not prevent successful completion of the award).
