Open Aged Football Changes

New Safeguarding Compliance from the FA

The FA are bringing in new Safeguarding Compliance for all adult clubs that have 16/17 year olds playing for them, these clubs are classed as Open Aged Clubs.

To be able to affiliate for the 2023/24 Season, all Open Aged Clubs will need to have an Adult Welfare Officer (not a Youth Welfare Officer) as an Official on the Whole Game System.  The person doing this role will need an in date FA DBS and will need to do the Player Welfare Course once this is released in the New Year.

If you have a youth section, then DBS’s can be done through them.  If you do not have a youth section we are currently training Devon Council Members, across the County to be able to do DBS’. Their contact details will be sent out to you the week beginning 14th November.

If you require anymore information or support in the process please email safeguarding@devonfa.com
