Girls Wildcats Application Deadline Extended

HAVE FUN, MAKE FRIENDS, PLAY FOOTBALL!

Girls Wildcats Application Deadline Extended

The SSE Girls Wildcats Centre application window which was due to close earlier this week will now remain OPEN until the 24th January 2019.

This is due to some difficulties with the new application portal but also to allow clubs who were interested in applying but were unable to do so due to missing qualifications more time to put an application together.

A big thank you to the good number of clubs who did get applications in before the initial deadline. This extension to the deadline now means there is still opportunity for clubs who had an interest but did not submit an application.

Please see below full details on criteria and how to apply for a Centre!

The FA is recruiting new organisers to operate an SSE Wildcats Centre and support our mission of providing football opportunities for girls aged 5-11 years.

Extension to deadline regarding qualification requirements

It has been brought to our attention that some potential centres are wholly committed to delivering a SSE Wildcats offer for young girls but need more time to refresh formal qualifications. Children’s safety and welfare is of paramount importance and it is imperative that any adults working with young girls, confirm their qualifications to do so during the application stages.

That said, we want to allow potential centres time to refresh qualifications so have agreed to extend the CFA approval process to 25th January 2019. Please note this purely to enable coaches/volunteers additional time to refresh qualifications.

Centres will need to have started their application by the 4th December 2018. This will allow CFAs to identify applications that need additional support and give centres additional time to ensure they meet the criteria.

Timelines

Applications must have started and be saved on the platform by 4th December 2018 (Does not need to be submitted by this point)
CFAs will have access to submitted applications on 4th December 2018, in which they can approve.
Applicants will have between 4th December 2018 and 25th January 2019 to have completed, submitted and have their application approved by the CFA.
CFAs must complete approval for both new and existing Centres by 25th January 2019.

Reminder – Any person completing the application for SSE Wildcats must hold an in date FA CRC and be over the age of 18.

We believe coaches like you are the perfect candidates to help inspire the next generation.

Moving into its second full year, SSE Wildcats now has over 800 centres nationwide and has attracted over 17,000 new girls to play the game for the first time.

The sessions take place on a weekly basis, either evenings or at weekends, subject to each local organiser.

They provide a safe environment where girls can have fun engaging with sport, make new friends, develop fundamental skills and create foundations for a lifelong love of sport.

When approved to become an SSE Wildcats Centre, coaches will receive funding, kit and equipment; ensuring you have everything you need to run your sessions.

We will also take you through induction training to help you understand how to coach a beginner girl.
