Devon FA, in conjunction with Devon Schools’ FA, are pleased to announce the launch of a Futsal Development Fund, specifically for Secondary Schools. The fund aims to increase the opportunities for young people (school years 7-10) to play Futsal.

The offer will support secondary schools to deliver futsal at school sites and lead to opportunities to host/attend futsal events across the county in this academic year (2018-19).

This fund is launched at really exciting time, as The FA launches a new 6-year strategy for Futsal. This strategy aims to make this fast, exciting format of the sport become England’s indoor game of choice for young players and drive participation. The fund will assist schools to increase opportunities for participation in Futsal, develop a workforce of young leaders delivering Futsal & utilise our Futsal facilities in schools.

The School’s Futsal Development Fund will provide a “Starter Pack”, assisting schools with the costs associated with running a regular programme on school facilities & any start-up costs for equipment, coaching courses or promotional materials. The starter pack will help schools utilise existing sports halls / hard surface facilities (with Futsal / Netball markings) to provide opportunities for students to play Futsal recreationally at school. As part of the offer, Devon FA will assist schools with CPD for young leaders to deliver recreational futsal activities in schools.

We have a limited number of packages available, but are encouraging schools to apply for the starter pack which includes the following:

• £100 Funding
• 3x Futsal balls
• 1x Leadership Workshop /launch event at your school (delivered by Devon FA staff)

What schools will be expected to run?

Successful schools will be expected to utilise the funding to deliver on a weekly basis internally:

• 1x lunchtime Futsal activity (league, turn up & play etc.) delivered by students/ staff
  OR
  1x after school activity (formal coaching / small-sided games)

Participate in events with other schools:

• Host (where possible) or attend District Futsal events, coordinated by Devon Schools FA
• Attend County Futsal Finals Day, coordinated by Devon Schools FA
