THE NOISE COMING FROM BOTH CLUBS

How it feels the reach a County Cup Final:

Dan Skyrme (MAP Juniors Manager) - “This is our 4th year entering the County Cup competition & with us going out in semi-final for the last couple of seasons for us to make the final this year is a real pleasure for all involved with our U16’s at MAP. Having won back to back league titles for the past 5 years & consecutively making league cup finals in the DJM, this is the one final that has eluded them.”

Paul Harris (Bideford Blues Manager) - “The team have worked very hard over the last five years to get here.”

What style of play we expect to see:

Dan Skyrme (MAP Juniors Manager) - “Under the management of both myself & Brad Yeo since the boys were U5’s we have coached them to play attacking football, short passes, pressing from the front, with everybody working just as hard of the ball. Some clubs describe this as Tiki-Taka but we just like to call it the MAP way.”

Paul Harris (Bideford Blues & Applefore Juniors Manager) - “Our usual 100% commitment to play football.”

What it's taken to reach a County Cup Final:

Dan Skyrme (MAP Juniors Manager) - “We had the toughest of first round draws facing the second best side from Plymouth in Marjons, beating them 4-2 at home put us into the second round. Unfortunately Ottery couldn’t raise a team so an away walkover was the result of that fixture. The quarter final saw us drawn with the holders Galmpton which proved to be a tough test against a very good side. A late winner gave Map the 3-2 victory putting us into yet another Devon Cup Semi Final. Plymouth Kolts away was to be our last hurdle on the road to Newton Abbot, a clean sheet in testing weather conditions, a battling performance from Kolts but we were too strong for them running out 3-0 winners on the day & progressing to this year’s 2017/18 Final.”

Paul Harris (Bideford Blues & Appledore Juniors Manager) - “It’s taken a lot of dedication and a never say never attitude.”
