Congratulations To PALFC For Reaching 3rd Round of Womens FA Cup

Plymouth Argyle Ladies FC defeated Gillingham Ladies on Sunday afternoon to reach the 3rd round of the Women's FA Cup.

A huge well done to PALFC from their game on Sunday, as they were victorious at home against the WPL Southern Division side, winning 3-1.

Beating a team a league above themselves proves this shock victory may lead to a great cup run.

Zoe Cunningham, Natasha Knapman and Ezme Wells were the goalscorers for Argyle Ladies on the day.

On Monday they were drawn away against Fylde Ladies in the next round and a win there could potentially mean they face one of the big guns in English football.

PALFC Manager, Travis Rowland, is overjoyed on the victory and is excited about what the future may bring; "We have really enjoyed our run to the third round so far, due to circumstances out of our control we managed to get a bye in the previous round but we fully deserved our win over Gillingham in Round 2.

"We were unfortunate not to win it in normal time, the Gillingham keeper single handedly kept them in it. We've got a really great squad of players who fight for each other for the entire game, and that never say die attitude was prevalent during our County Cup victory of Buckland earlier in the year too.

"We are going to head up to Lancashire in January with a really positive mindset and are hopeful of getting a good result against another team from the step above us. From there, we'd take a home tie against anyone; not many will like coming down to Plymouth for the weekend!"

Argyle's 3rd Round game against Fylde Ladies will be on Sunday 7th January. Please keep an eye out on their social media pages and website to see how they get on!

Good luck to Plymouth Argyle Ladies FC.
