Volunteers

Support for Volunteers

Volunteers are the backbone of grassroots football, and both clubs and leagues require volunteers in many different roles including secretaries, welfare officers, fundraisers and coaches. You can find descriptions for volunteer roles, useful templates (e.g. club posters and certificates) and information on the FA's Your Game webpages.

Devon FA provide free workshops to coaches from Charter Standard Clubs and a coach mentoring scheme. For other help - from improving social media pages to fundraising - our partners Active Devon provide excellent support evenings that all clubs can access.

How to find Volunteers

Devon County FA runs a Football Futures Programme for young volunteers age 14-25 interested in football administration, coaching and refereeing.

Every area in Devon has a volunteer centre that will help football clubs and leagues to find locally-based volunteers and vice-versa. Whether you are in Plymouth, Torbay, Exeter, Teignbridge, North Devon, Torridge, East DevonSouth Hams, Mid or West Devon each of these free centres will help you find volunteers.

You can also advertise on the Devon FA noticeboard.

National Organisations Join-InVinspired and Do-it also provide a free service to help your club or league find sport-minded volunteers, if you register with them.
