2:12 PM, Friday, 07 May 10.

Exeter City 1 - 2 Bideford played at Willand Rovers on 6th May 2010

This end to end contest was played at a fast pace throughout and it looked likely that extra time would be required to decide the winners but a late Bideford goal saw the North Devon club lift the trophy.

Bideford had early chances but shots from Kevin Squire and Ellis Laight were off target, Ben Woods had a shot blocked by Exeter's Aaron Dawson and had another effort cleared off the line by Liam Ellis.

It was then Exeter's turn as Kyle Bassett shot wide. Bidefords Darren Hawkings headed away a lob by Chris Sheperd and an effort by Tom Nicholls was cleared by Bideford defender Dominic Rivans.

On 17 minutes the Exeter keeper Matt Armstrong-Ford had to leap high to save a header from Bideford's Rob Francis. Exeter were then on the attack and a free kick by Shepherd somehow evaded a host of defenders and the ball went the wrong side of the post.

On 32 minutes a long throw by Bideford's Wood was headed just wide by Rob Francis, Woods then had a fierce shot go across the Exeter goal mouth taking a deflection for a corner.

In the 40th minute Bideford's Andrews was bought down just outside the area, Laight took the free kick and the Exeter keeper had jump high to save at the second attempt.

After 42 minutes a Bideford player was fouled just outside the penalty box and an Exeter player was dismissed for a last man tackle that went wrong. Darren Hawkings the Bideford dentral defender took the kick and with a daisy cutter shot through a melee of players and hit the back of the net.

The attacking ened to end nature of the match continued after the break and it was Bideford on the attack first with Karl Baker having a shot go across the Exeter goal mouth and Squire had two shot brilliantly saved by Exeter keeper Armstrong-Ford.

In the 48th and 53rd minutes the Bideford keeper Ryan Draper was called into action to save shots from Exeter's Elliot Freear and Berry.

On 61 minutes Exeter drew level when Lewis Taskerslipped a delightful ball through to Berry and the forward shot low into the Bideford net.

Bideford's Wood then just failed to get a connection with a cross from Baker who also had a shot go close.

On 65 minutes Exeter's Berry had a long shot go just over the bar whilst at the other end the Exeter keeper Armstong-Ford had to dive to save a shot from Wood.

Exeter then had a good spell, on 75 minutes a shot from an oblique angle by Tom Nichols was saved low down at the near post by the Bideford keeper Ryan Draper and a superb ball by Elliot Freear evaded the Bideford defencebut was eventually cleared. Nichols then broke through for Exeter but was robbed by a decisive challenge by Bideford's Laight.

Bideford broke away in the 82nd minute and a cross by Wood saw Andrew fire a low shot into the Exeter net to complete the scoring and allow Bideford to lift the trophy.
