With no under 13 County cup compeition available this year for Ashmoor they chose to enter the Under 14's Cup, but due to the 2 year age bracket they only had 11 players available for the final. They did however put a brave performance against a much stronger Bideford Blues and Appledore side and only lost 5 - 1.
Early on the Bideford striker Sophie Parish had two chances to score but was just off target, 9 minutes later the Ashmoor Goalkeeper Alice Payne made a good save from Blues Kelly Darnley and Louise Page was robbed by a strong tackle from by Sadie Harriott.
Blues then scored twice in two minutes. The first on 13 minutes was a speculative crosscome shot by Page that could only be parried by the back tacking Ashmoor keeper and Payne was on hand to tap the ball into the empty net. Chelsea Hannan netted the second from 12 yards with a shot which went in off the upright.
Sophie Little of Ashmoor then produced a great tackle to deny Sarah Parish netting her second.
Darcie Harper of Ashmoor then went close but she fired a powerful shot from Natasha's Hodnetts fine corner just over.
Immediately after the break the Ashmoor keeper Payne had to make a diving save to palm a Caitlyn Ebsworthy shot round the post. From the resultant corner though Page scored to make it 3 - 0.
On 42 minutes Parish scored her second to make it 4 - 0 when after a 35 yard run she fired low past keeper Payne and three minutes later following an identical run she fired just wide.
On 62 minutes Parish completed her hat-trick with a shot from 20 yards which sailed over the head of keeper Payne and into the roof of the net.
Ome minutes later Ashmoor got a consolation goal when Warman rounded the last defender and shot past the blues keeper.
Ashmoor aquitted themselves fantastically but in the end Bideford Blue amd Appledore proved a bit too strong as the game finished 5 - 1
