Graddon Vending Premier Cup, Played at Tiverton Town on 22nd April 2008
The first half of this match was played at a fast pace with both sides full of energy and endeavour but lacking that real sparkle.
In the 4th minute Totnes & Dartington were on the attack and a Tom Comyn shot across the box bought a diving save from the Appledore keeper Nicky Spry.
In the 38th minute Totnes & Dartington took the lead when Harry Capanini set up Comyn with a delightful through ball and the striker rode a challenge before curling the ball majestically into the top right hand corner of the net above outstretched hand of keeper Spry.
On 44 minutes for Appledore James Rees put over a cross but striker Richard Hevingham just failed to connect with a header.
The second half started with more ebb and flow about it and and both teams were attacking with far more purpose.
Totnes & Dartington created three early chances, on 48 minutes Hopkins dribbled from the halfway line rounded a defender but was denied by keeper Spry. A minute later Hopkins was again in action crossing for Comyn but the strikers header took a deflection for a corner. From the resultant kick the ball fell to James Payne who failed to connect with a glorious chance to score.
Appledore then went on the attack and from a rees cross Steve Skinner headed wide.
Totnes & Dartington forced a corner on 56 minutes and from Ben Bowhays kick Mike Bishop's header was finger tipped over by keeper Spry.
A minute later Totnes & Dartington were 2 - 0 up. A Carpanini shot ricochetted into the path of Hopkins and the flank man shot low into the corner of the net.
After 65 minutes Hopkins had another opportunity to score for Totnes & Dartington but his rocket of a shot went close.
Appledore reduced the arrears on 75 minutes when a Rees cross was headed home by Shaun Copp.
With 90 minutes played Mile Chalcraft to Totnes & Dartington tried to bend the ball round the keeper Spry was just wide.
In time added on Appledores Hevingham had a dangerous cross plucked out of the air by Totnes keeper Abrahams.
Comyn had a chance for Totnes but he lobbed just over.
Appledores Hevingham was put though but Totnes & Dartington keeper Abraham was wise to the situation and was quick off his line to deny the striker and Totnes & Dartington won the match 2-1.
The County chairman Dennis Smith presented the Man of the Match award to Tom Comyn of Totnes & DartingtonĀ and the Graddon Vending Premier Cup to Totnes & Dartington captain Mike Bishop.
