Tiverton Claim Victory in Under 18 Cracker

Tiverton Town Youth 2 - 1 Plymstock United Youth

Played at Coach Road, Newton Abbot on 24/04/08

This match was an attacking end to end contest with both defences coming out on top in the first half.

On 12 minutes a shot by Tiverton's Glen Gould was tipped over the bar by Plymstock keeper Jack Dixon.

Three minutes later Tiverton keeper James Woodcock saved a long shot from Plymstock's Neil Kinsman.

On 24 minutes Plymstock's Levi Landricombe rounded Tiverton keeper Woodcock but from a glorious opportunity his blasted goal bound shot struck the face of Tiverton defender Sam Tennant and the ball bounced away.

Eight minutes later a well struck cross by Tiverton's Seam Szabo was intercepted by Plymstock's Ross Hoyland

Tiverton's Gould was next in action but after turning a defender Plymstock defender Dixon was wise to the situation and came running out to clear.

On 35 minutes a cross by Plymstock defender Lewis Daw found colleague Ross Combes but his shot was saved bu Woodcock.

Tiverton then had 2 chances before the break. Steve Goss with a looping header was just wide of the far post and Gould had a shot saved by Dixon.

Plymstock took the lead in the 47th minute when Levi Landricombe cut in from the edge of the box fired low inside the back post.

Five minutes later Landricombe could have put Plymstock further ahead but shot wide.

Tiverton equalised on 56 minutes when Gould broke away at lightening pace down the left flank and chipped the ball over the advancing Plymstock keeper Dixon.

Tiverton then had a good 20 minutes spell creating several good chances, Gould went close with a shot, Szabo shot just over and also fired a shot across goal which beat keeper Dixon but went the wrong side of the far post.

On 63 minutes Tiverton's Brendon O'Boyle produced an instinctive finish firing low through a crowd of players into the corner of the net.

Plymstock had a couple fo late chances but a shot by Ben Annis was saved by Tiverton keeper Woodcock and Coombes headed over, but Tiverton held on to win 2 - 1.

After the match the sponsor Roger Mann, Managing director of Wotton Printers assisted by County Vice President John Webber  presented the man of the Match award to Tiverton's Glen Gould and the trophy to Tiverton captain Brendon O'Boyle.
