Job Vacancies in Football Development

Girls’ and Women’s Community Football Coach

Salary - £12,000 (pro-rata) 10 months full time fixed term contract.

This exciting new position will report to the Girls’ and Women’s Football Development Officer and the County Development Manager and will commence in September 2010 (subject to the successful candidates availability.) The Devon County FA is based in Newton Abbot, although it is likely the post holder will be mainly based from home.

The role encompasses the following areas:

• Growth and Retention – increasing and sustaining female player participation.
• Raising Standards – creating a safe and positive environment for females, and promotion of the FA’s Charter Standard and RESPECT Programmes
• Better Players – implementation of female player pathway.
• Running the Game – establishing effective playing structures for young female players
• Workforce – developing a grassroots volunteer workforce including coaches, referees, administrators and club welfare officers

The successful candidate must have the following;
• A FA Level 2 in Coaching Football award
• FAs Safeguarding Children Workshop
• A good understanding of the FA’s Long Term Player Development
• Experience of coaching young people.

The individual also needs to be passionate about, and committed to, the development of football at a local level. The individual must be able to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

The candidate must be able to demonstrate both team working and the ability to work unsupervised. The candidates should also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate will also need to have a current driving licence, have access to a car and also be able to work evenings and weekends.

The interview process will consist of a formal interview and short coaching session.
