 Primary School Girls Football

Devon County FA in partnership with School Sports Partnerships throughout Devon, are offering a number of Girls ONLY Football Sessions to Girls in a primary school enivroment. FA Charter Standard Clubs are being linked to this school activity to provide exit routes and safe playing enviroments for those girls who wish to carrying on playing football. 

RECENT EVENTS

St Lukes's Family, Exeter 

Four Primary Schools from the St Luke's Family in Exeter (St Michael's, Pinhoe, Whipton and Ladysmith) have recently taken part in the Primary Schools Girls Football project. Each primary school received 3 x 1 hour coaching sessions, this was offered to girls in school years 3, 4, 5 and 6. Following the after-school coaching the four schools came together for family festival - this was held at St Luke's School on Tuesday 3rd November. Over 60 girls partcipated in the 'Fundimental' focussed event. Mark Young and Matt Hodgson from the Devon FA would like to send Thank You's to Matt Upson (St Luke's School), the 4 primaries involved (teachers, players and parents!), and the Female Young Leaders provided by St Luke's School.   

Following on from this event their are now further oppourtunities for young girls to become invovled in GIRLS ONLY football in EXETER and SURROUNDING AREAS.

Eggbuckland Family, Plymouth

Four Primary Schools from the Egguckland Family in Plymouth (Austin Farm, Eggbuckland Vale, Compton and St Edwards) have recently taken part in the Primary Schools Girls Football project. Each primary school received 2 x 1 hour coaching sessions, this was offered to girls in school years 3 and 4. Following the after-school coaching the four schools came together for family festival - this was held at Eggbuckland Community College on Wednesday 9th December. Over 50 girls partcipated in the 'Fundimental' focussed event. Mark Young from the Devon FA would like to send Thank You's to Marc Whaley (Eggbuckland CC), the 4 primaries involved (teachers, players and parents!), as well as Peter Distin and Activate Ladies for supporting and creating an exit route from this schools project.  

Lipson Family, Plymouth

The Lipson Primary School Family came together for a coaching festival funday on Friday the 11th December at Lipson CC. This included a morning of FUNdimental skills sessions, delivered by coaches from the Devon FA. The afternoon then saw a tournement between all those involved. This event focussed on school years 3 and 4. There were over 60 girls in attendance from Liara Green, Lipson Vale and Prince Rock. Mark Young from the Devon FA would like to send Thank You's to Anna Clook(Lipson CC), the 3 primaries involved (teachers, players and parents!), the Young Leaders from Lipson Community College (Jess, Michelle and Yaz), as well as Chaddlewood Miners for creating an exit route from this schools project.  

John Kitto Family, Plymouth

Six Primary Schools from the John Kitto Family in Plymouth (Hyde Park, Pennycross, Knowle, Manadon Vale, Mayflower and Shakespeare), have recently taken part in the Primary Schools Girls Football project. Each primary school received 2 x 1 hour coaching sessions, this was offered to girls in school years 3, 4, 5 and 6. These schools will be coming together for a festival on Wednesday 17th March 2010. Thank You's to Helen Smith (John Kitto CC), the 6 primaries involved (teachers, players and parents!), as well as YMCA Kitto Parkway for creating an exit route from this schools project.

Plympton Family, Plymouth

The Plympton (Hele's and Ridgeway) Primary School Family came together for a coaching festival funday on Tuesday 8th December at Goals Soccer Centre. This included a morning of FUNdimental skills sessions, delivered by coaches from the Devon FA. The afternoon then saw a tournement between all those involved. This event focussed on school years 3 and 4. There were over 80 girls in attendance from Old Priory, Woodford, Borringdon, Yealmpstone Farm and Plympton St Maurice. Mark Young from the Devon FA would like to send Thank You's to Anna Clook (Hele's CC) and Theresa Honeywill (Ridgeway SSCo), the  primaries involved (teachers, players and parents!), as well as Barry Metters and AFC Plympton for supporting the event and creating an exit route for these girls.

Sir John Hunt, Plymouth

Four Primary Schools from the Sir John Hunt Family in Plymouth (St Peters RC, Oakwood, Beechwood, Woodfield), have recently taken part in the Primary Schools Girls Football project. Each primary school received 2 x 1 hour coaching sessions, this was offered to girls in school years 3 and 4. These schools then came together for a festival on 11th February 2010. Thank You's to Luisa Welling (Sir John Hunt CC), the 4 primaries involved (teachers, players and parents!), as well as Plymouth Marjons for creating an exit route from this schools project.

Stoke Dameral, Plymouth

Four Primary Schools from the Sir John Hunt Family in Plymouth (Keyham Barton, Stoke Damerel, Mount Wise, College Road), have recently taken part in the Primary Schools Girls Football project. These schools then came together for a festival on 28th January 2010. Thank You's to Liz Morbey (Stoke Dameral CC), the 4 primaries involved (teachers, players and parents!), as well as Keyham Kolts for helping to create an exit route from this schools project.
