Schools Football

Ability Counts Schools Football


Devon County FA support an Ability Counts football league for SEN and disabled pupils within special and mainstream schools with central venue fixtures throughout the year. The aim is to offer players the opportunity for regular involvement in football, with each School Sports Partnership hosting an event.

This season there will be a total of 8 events with matches for teams as follows:

  • Boys Years 9-11 (KS3/4)
  • Mixed Years 7-9
  • Severe Learning Difficulties
  • Girls Years 8-11 (KS3/4)

Dates for fixtures in the 2010/11 Academic Year are as follows: 

  • 29 September (South & West Devon SSP)
  • 20 October (King George V Playing Fields, Exeter)
  • 11 November (Plymstock School, Plymouth)
  • 09 February (Paignton Community College)
  • 09 March (South Dartmoor Community College)
  • 06 April (Braunton Community College) 
  • 19 May (Sir John Hunt School, Plymouth)
  • 15 June (East Devon SSP)

 

Devon FA Disability Centre of Excellence

Devon County FA run a centre of excellence for talented players age 11-18 with a disability.  This aims to provide a link from schools and local club football towards possible trials for England National Disability Football squads.  For more information see the 'Centre of Excellence' page.
