Liverpool Visit Home Park
This coming Sunday 27th April, the National Ability Counts Football Champions, Liverpool, will visit Home Park.
Plymouth Argyles Premiership Disability team will take on the mighty reds in a repeat of their meeting in the 07/08 Ability Counts National Final group stage game, where the Pilgrims were the only side to avoid defeat to the eventual winners.
The game is just reward for the Pilgrims, who, last weekend clinched the South West Regional Ability Counts Premier League Title for the third year running. In doing so the Pilgrims have secured their entry to the National Finals due to be held at Salford Sports Village, Manchester, in July.
Liverpool’s visit completes a fabulous family day at home park, with the game taking place after the supporters game, in association with Argyle’s Football In The Community Department.
The main exhibition match kicks off at 2.30pm, with the supporter’s game kicking off at 11am.
Congratulations to Deaf Trail Nominees Joseph Neale, Gilson Sly & Jason Trotter.
Saturday 8th March 2008 saw three of Plymouth Argyles FITDC most promising deaf players attend trails for the England Deaf squad.
Following his attendance Joseph Neale of Plymstock United F.C. has been selected to attend the second round of trials where the national coaching staff will select the final squad to travel to Greece to represent England in the Deaf World Cup.
We wish Joe the best of luck and will update you on his progress.
Former Centre of Excellence (Disability) player Heads for National Camp.
Congratulations to Jason Trotter who has been selected to represent the Devon County Football Association at the FA’s National Young Leaders Camp.
Jason will travel to Nottingham in July with fellow Young Leader Georgia Spurdle, to spend a week with Young Leaders from all over the country and will take part in a number of workshops run by National FA Tutors. Here Jason will have the opportunity to enhance the skills he has demonstrated throughout the Devon County Football Association Step into Sport Young Leaders Programme 2007/08, and hopefully be one of the four Young Leaders selected to travel to Africa with the FA. If successful Jason will support the FA’s International Placement programme and will support and run coaching sessions for children in Africa.
