Gloucester FA are this year running a McDonald's sponsored residential Level 3 course at Reading.
We have a small allocation of places for Devon coaches on this course and candidates will go through a selection process.
Please see under 'Related Documents' for dates and application form and full details of costs involved.
Any coach wishing to apply must be working with a current Charter Standard Club.
Applications should come to Annie Watts at Devon FA in the first instance accompanied by:
- a covering letter detailing why you want to be selected for a place on the course
- your football CV with full details of coaching experience and qualifications
- a copy of your Level 2 action plan and feedback form from your Level 2 portfolio

The Level 3 coaching course is for coaches over the age of 18 who hold the Level 2 certificate and who work with a team within the age range of 16+ over an extensive period of time aiming to make a significant contribution to their performance.
The course involves a contact time of some 90 hours of guided learning providing practical demonstrations of possession, movement to create space, counter-attacking play, play in the attacking third, regaining possession, defending in the thirds of the field and goalkeeping.
Theory includes the learning and coaching process, match and player analysis, team organisation, strategies and tactics, psychological factors, football fitness, football food, injury identification, aspects of first aid, drug awareness and education, preparing, planning, and evaluating coaching sessions in conjunction with competitive match programmes and attitudes and ethics.
Candidates should be able to have access to a minimum of 16 players on a regular basis and to be able to complete the coaching practice required after the initial 6 day training programme.
