McDonald's sponsored Level 2 coaching course
Dorset FA are this year hosting the McDonald's sponsored Level 2 course which will be held at Sherborne in Dorset commencing Saturday 1 May 2010. This is only open to members of current Charter Standard Clubs.

Applications will go through a selection process. Candidates are asked to submit their applications to Annie Watts at Devon FA, accompanied by:
- a letter stating why they should be considered for a place on this McDonald's sponsored course.
- a football CV stating full coaching experience and qualifications to date

The Level 2 coaching course is designed for candidates who have had some experience of participation in regular football, at any level, and wish to become more committed to coaching football.
This course runs over a contact time of 60 hours of guided learning, providing practical demonstrations of basic techniques including passing, ball-control, running with the ball, turning, dribbling, shooting, heading and goalkeeping plus the principles of attack and defence, warm up / down.
Theory includes planning, preparing and evaluating coaching sessions, football fitness, football food, Emergency First Aid, Health and Safety, Laws of the Game and overuse injuries.
